Account Setup is a web-based tool that provides many time saving features and benefits to North Shore Long Island Jewish Laboratory.  Account Setup is a database tool utilized by sales representatives to enter all necessary information to support the build of outreach clients.  Information such as demographics, contacts, doctors, office hours, pickup, reports, requisitions, supplies…is entered in a step by step fashion and results in a clean, printable document used to build the client, set up the correct equipment, order the correct supplies, logistics, and so forth.  Sales representatives and others can log into Account Setup at any time to gather information or view the status of a client build (eg. Build in Process, Build Complete, Validation in Process…).  This allows accurate communication with the doctor’s office as to the timing of completion.  Besides streamlining the build process, the tool also serves as a history of traceable information such as dates of completion, number of doctors built, usernames, number of results only vs. orders clients built…

Another benefit of Account Setup is the reduction in the number of errors caused by illegible handwriting and missing information.  Prior to the creation of this tool, in order to build a new outreach client, information was collected in a much less organized fashion (eg. Emails, phone tag…), which resulted in more errors and slower build times.  The time it takes to enter new client information into the database far outweighs the previous time and communication it took to get the correct information to the right person.  In return, this allows a faster and much more accurate way to get our clients up and running.
